Introducing our newest Board Member

We are thrilled to introduce you to our newest board member, Irene Crowther, who has joined Be Slavery Free to help us in our mission to combat modern slavery and human trafficking worldwide. She is joining our wonderful Board not just as a Director, but will also be serving as Company Secretary. We thank Skye Kakoschke-Moore, our outgoing Company Secretary, for her years of meticulous and generous service, and very grateful she will continue serving as a Director.

Irene is a lawyer and specialist in business and human rights, with extensive experience in representing rights-holders and promoting access to justice for clients across a range of practice areas. Throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly to help survivors overcome the challenges they face and access remediation.

In her role as a consultant, Irene leverages her expertise in business and human rights to help companies fulfill their responsibility to respect human rights. She has conducted extensive research on this topic and advised many businesses and for-purpose organisations on modern slavery, labour rights, safeguarding, and human rights due diligence.

Irene's unique perspective, informed by her prioritisation of rights-holders and her work as a researcher, gives her a deep understanding of the complexities of modern slavery and the challenges facing businesses as they seek to address this issue. She has helped many companies find practical solutions to amplify the voice of the rights-holder and embed human rights due diligence norms within their policies and processes.

Irene's expertise and dedication to the cause of combatting modern slavery and human trafficking make her an invaluable addition to our team. We are confident that she will make a significant contribution to our efforts to end this global scourge.

Please join us in welcoming Irene to the Be Slavery Free team!
